Encrusting Gorgonian!

My wife had this coral in her tank and it started to fade away and gave it to me to see what would happen and happy to report it is making a great comeback:

And this pic is a little mini-star and have heard some can be bad but they have not bothered any of my corals so thought I would show the pic for those who have not seen them yet or wondered what they were!

i could not kill that stuff, literally. a little bit of it survived my heater outage for a week at 55F! and to make it worse, i was actually trying to kill it off because of the new tank being SPS so let stay in the old tank with really bad water quality for several months. i finally gave in, because i wife wanted that tank taken down NOW!! it encrusted close to 80% of the directly lighted surface of my LR in the 55g. it is really neat stuff, but boy can it get to be a pain. it will spread fast. it seems to go nuts a couple of times a year.

Don't know what gorg that is, nor what star you have on the glass,

Dark Horge I believe the encrusting gorgonian is Erythropodium caribaeorum according to Eric Borneman's book Aquarium Corals!
