The Chili Coral has a red, yellow color. It likes to eat filter feeding invert food, brine shrimp, micro-plankton a few times per week, when open. The Alcyonium species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates. Many consider the Alcyonium species a low-maintenance specimen. Has moderate lighting needs. The Chili Sponge, Strawberry Coral, Encrusting Leather Coral requires moderate water flow.
Symbiotic algae zooxanthellae are hosted within this organism. Will extend tentacles at night, so provide space. Place at the bottom of your tank on the sand. Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). The Chili Coral is commonly collected from Indonesia.
