What the heck is this!?

Ok, when I first spotted this thing in my tank, it was itty bitty..it was cool, but I didn't give it much thought. Well, just tonight i saw it again, and it has more then tripled in size! It is now marble size, where as before it was pea size. Any one have a clue as to what this is?

my wild guess is some kind of nudi, assuming that it moves because you see it intermitantly.

other than that i have not a clue.

There is no movement to it...from what I can tell. Unless it is soooooo slow that it moves a cm in 8 hours or something. From what I can tell, the only time it moves is when the current blows it.

could it be a tiny hammer coral? is it in the light? if it does not move then i would just let it be. see what happens. i only worry about things that move. movement implies predation.

As of this morning, it is still there. A little more inflated, but hasn't moved. So, if it is a nudi, it is a lazy one. If it isn't a nudi...still would love some insight and guesses. And no...an alien egg does not count.

I might be some kind of mushroom but it does look a lot like a Lettuce nudibranch. I am curious though what it is. If it is a lettuce nudibranch and it is not moving then it might be a dead lettuce nudibranch.

No..it can't be dead...no dead stuff allowed in my tank..only thriving HAPPY critters! I will check on him again when I get home. He looks pretty much the same as when I first saw him weeks ago, except he is much larger. I will see if I can find the first pic I took of it. It was in the same shape it is now, just pea size.

Shriveled up mushroom? That would blow around, expand, and could be that color. Just a thought.

Doesn't look like any shriveled up mushroom I have seen..but if it was a hitchhiker mushroom, that would explain that. It still hasn't really moved, etc a few cm. But, again I think that is due to the current.

A thought for the "dead nudi" notion...if it was dead, wouldn't the hermits and bristleworms be after it? I watch bristleworms move around it, but never go for it.

Well, been a few days, and the thing is still there...moved over a little, but still there, looking the same as ever. So, I don't think it is alive....er...dead. So, I am left the other popular opinion that it is some sort of mushroom all closed up...tight. I will give you all status reports on this little critter... now I just need a name for it. Any ideas?
