Onpen Brain Not Openining

Ive had an open brain corals for four months and its been doing great since the day i bought it. For three days it has not been opening up as much as it ussually does its almost closed up all the way. I feed it once a week and i dont think any of my water aprams have drastically changed. Do most lps corals close up for a few days every now and then?

I did a 5 gallon water change yesterday and it didn't seem to help it that much. I have a green torch coral in the tank too, it is opening up all the way. Dont these lps have simmilar care requirements? Could i be that i feed it too much and it doesn't need to open as much to get energy from photosynthesis?

From what I read, open brain do not require direct feeding! They say once or twice a month is ok so maybe you are over feeding! Johnny

We used to feed ours shrimp pellets and silver sides. After eating he always looked lkae poo! Then after that, why you need a skimmer! What a mess.

We have four of them. Our first one would swell up so much I was sure it would blow out. Now for the past month, he does not open that much and is starting to get wrinkles like others. He used to just be semi round with his mouth in the middle. Now he is starting to look like an 8.
