New Frogspawn coloration?


OK I got this guy this weekend and it is yellowy in color. Will it color up to the neon green after a while? Did anyone else's do this?

duh... I knew that ::slaps himself:: this is what happens when you feel like you've gotten about an hour's sleep! Thats strange though.. I am soon to purchase yellow hammers... I wish they were branching! I would so frag it : ) - Is there a way to frag a non branching hammers/frogspawn?

They don't all come in Green. I've had this one for about six months and it's maybe gotten a little browner, seemed it was pretty bleached looking when purchased. I've had to keep it separated from its tankmates as it has some wicked tentacles.

I am under the understanding that it depends on the type of symbiotic algae that is living in it's tissues. And futher more that the algae loses some of its color in transport. As far as the the "losing color," part I dont know how much water that story holds. I have had many a Frogspawns, and only a couple have changed color after introduction to nice MH lighting, but still almost undectecable. I think what you buy is what you get. I have always tried to find a LFS that uses pretty much the same lighting that I have so I know what it will look like. But I must say yours is a very beautiful specimem. Keep it, Love it Feed it
