frogspawn feeding

Question for all of you,

I recently purchased my first lps, a frogspawn, and was wondering how often it needs to be fed...if at all, and what you feed yours.

thanks
Mike

I have never fed mine and its fine. A lot depends on your lighting. After it acclimates, you can try small bits of shrimp and see what happens. The worst that can happen is that your frog will reject it.

I agree, Strong lights are a must.

I had a branching FS in a 46 gallon tank with 110W pc and it was not doing good, even lost a branch or too.

I moved it to my 15 gallon nano with 130W over it and the FS is huge.

I have a clarki clown that feeds mine... he adopted it a long time ago. But I also feed them mysis, brine, seafood mix, and occasionally powdered invert food... I have several types and they are all doing well. I have to ask though, I heard they don't require strong lighting, and in fact mine thrived in 160w of no flourecent lighting... they look better under the pc, but I have never heard that they required strong light...?

Mine got greener when I moved him up closer to the light and he is a year old and I have never feed him. Casey

On a scale from 1 to 10 on lighting for Frogspawn they are 4-9
according to Eric Borneman A Practical Guide to Corals for the Reef Aquaium 1996.
