feeding of a open brain

Does anyone have problem in feeding an open brain? I try to offer it some small shrimp at the tenticals but it doesn't grab it. Any ideas?

Just keep trying. Ours took awhile to get used to the idea of food being presented to it, and now it eats like a pig.

You may have to hold it there awhile, but it'll figure it out eventually.

Mine really loved "silversides" and went right for them the very first time!

Hi Silas! Here is an URL that shows what they are:
http://www.cnr.vt.edu/efish/families/atherinidae.html

Some of the on-line stores carry them and maybe your LFS!

Johnny-
How small do you cut those up for your brain? I got some whole shrimp that i cut up for mine... And silly me I never even thought to try silversides!

I had to build a milk-jug feeding type thing because otherwise my fish would grab the food.

Hi there! Happy Easter! I believe they come in two sizes in the packages! There are really small ones and a package a little larger. I usually feed two or three to the open brain! Johnny

Silas! I fed my open brain when the lights were off for awhile as that is when it showed time to eat. I would put some of the water that the silverside was in and squirt it into the water current and that would trigger it to feed.

Oh don't let the pic in that url on silversides fool ya! The silversides are quite small!!
