I had a friend in washington that has had one for several years. His lighting was 2 4' actinic ho and 2 4' vho 10k over a 80 gallon tank. Fed the fish everyday. Something that I think that had to do with his doing so well was that he used ozone with a redox controller. Just a guess but I would bet they need exacting water quality. His would open up about 12" inches and take up whole center of the tank, it was quite magnifcant to view.

The person also changed 20 gallons of water everyweek.

He looks very happy now. With my flower I find that she is always the last to open and only really open for about 6 hours. Finicky at best. And when I put my weeky doseage Coral-Vite the flower usually closes.

But they are beautiful.
