cup coral and urchin


this is the first coral i bought it has really opened up since i moved it to the top of the tank

heres my urcin


tis guy was the size of a pecil eraser when i got it now it's about 4 inches. -i think that is an oyster above it. it came with the live rock.

looks good. i have never seem to be albe to keep that species of urchin longer than about 2 years. once they get to about 4 inches in diameter they just die. after about the 3rd one (all hitchhikers) i assumed it was their normal life cycle.

those oysters are fun. be carefull some of them like to borrow into the LR. be carefull in the fact that they will squirt you when you remove the LR to rearrange. they seem to last a good long time in the aquarium.

i like the Florida aquacultured rock also. if i had lived closer or made trips closer to Tampa my whole tank would be done in it.

I had 275 lbs of the stuff in a 135 before... Of course, when i lived in FL... Those were the days.......

i realy don't know what kind of rock it is. i got it from the lfs. there is like six around here and only one has live rock for under 6 buck a pound so thats what i got. when i get more i'll ask where it's from
