I finaly got a digital camera that worked. I must say sorry for the alge on the tank but I can't stick my hands in tank till tomorrow. I sorta got kerosene all over them. But any way the first one is a pic of my injured freebie coral that I beleave is a sun coral.

I can't see the anemone well enough to help, but those are definitely sun polyps - and they aren't far gone at all. (I've seen much worse.)

Now, just feed 'em, and watch 'em grow! If you have a chance, I think Borneman's book would be a good coral reference for you to pick up - it always helps to know what you're getting into. But in the same breath, if a LFS offered me that colony for a damsel, you bet I'd take it!

xwild yes thats pretty much what they look like but there hard for me to get a picture of because the camera I was using has a wierd focus on it because its all digital and no lense movement.

I was just talking to a fellow reefer with a sun coral - his is on the sand and he feeds it by putting the top half on a pop bottle over it and gently blasting the food inside. leaves the 'cover' on for an hour or so.

Good luck
