Ich

I came home tonight to see my bicolor angel covered with white spots. The other fish look fine, for now. I have only 1 tank set up right now, and don't have much extra water laying around. Anything you can suggest I do? It is in a 46 gallon reef with 3 other fish, and they seem to be doing fine. I have a small 10 gallon I could set up tommorrow for it, and treat it in that. The only filter I have for it is a whisper power filter. Just pull the carbon out? Otherwise, I'm stuck with pulling the fish out and putting it out of misery. Let me know what you would do.

Ich is usually cuased by a fish stressing out. Thier are sever ways to cure it and prevent it. The best way at thid moment in time would be to set up a hospital tank and put the angel in it. Wilth this tank you could use treatments such as copper or even better Hypo salinity. For preventative measures in the future a garlic additive in the foods you feed seems to work well, that and maybe Selicon (vitamins).

Being somewhat of a skeptic of garlic I was reluctant to try it until I changed tanks, had an ich outbreak , and was unable to catch the infected fish. I'm happy to report it did work and is a weekly addition to my blender mush now as a preventative measuse. I also reconnected my uv sterilizer and never shut it off now. (There are 2 schools of thought on this but it works for me)
