Bubble coral in trouble?

I may have missed this routine before so I'm not sure if my bubble has a problem or not. I just checked my tank and the bubble is almost completely retracted with weird red/brown stuff inside the mouth. The mouth on this guy is about 3 1/2 inches long and the reddish stuff seems to be filling the mouth. Mostly looks like fibers though one piece looks solid.

Is it regurgitating food? Mostly it gets squid which is white...

Pooping? Geez I thought we only worried about the bioload for fish!

Glad this sounds familiar to you because I couldn't figure out why the 'stuff' was brown. I've had this guy for almost two years but never caught it before.
