Uck Oh!

Well, you know we have "Itty Bit" at home in the tank.
I really think it's how they are raised, how/what they are fed, how dependent they are on you, individual personality. She's never been a problem, never excessively picked on anything. But keep in mind, she's in a 350 loaded with corals native to her and fed 4-5 times a day. She's about 2 1/2" now. She spends most of her time cruising around with Malcomb (Queen) and Wreck (Cherub) waiting to be fed again.

People with 350 gallon tanks can get away with a lot of things us poor modest sized tank owners can't!

That and where we live. There's always some sort of exhibit that would want a big tame angel, or we can just take her back "home". That's what happened to Frenchie and she's still a pet. Well we think she still has a crush on Jorge.

Greg, I'm with you in that I wouldn't take the chance. I think it pretty common knowledge that most angels will eat certain corals. There seems to be quite a lot of people who want to push the envelope on what should and shouldn't be done with the argument that the hobby will never move forward if we don't try. I fail to see where trying to keep a coralivore in a tank with corals is advancing the hobby (especially when you consider that the fish in question is an Atlantic species and will be kept, I assume, with coral species from the Pacific).

I also don't think you will change anyone's mind unfortunately. Like Green Mariner pointed out a while back people would get flamed if they mentioned keeping an anemone. Now it isn't such a hot subject. I don't think it the people that don't think keeping anemones is ethical have changed their minds, they've just grown tired of having the same argument with little to show for it. Same goes with tangs. Whether we are right or wrong we don't seem to be able to change peoples minds once made up.

Personally, just the thought of trying to chase a fish down to get it out of my tank if it doesn't work out has saved me from a few "impulse" buys.
