Ok, I'm really going to give you the ol' diving bug. I'm going to keep blasting you with pictures, until you just can't stand it any more and have to come down.

Hi Jerel,

I got my PADI certification at Windley Key 22 years ago. I miss it down there. You're lucky to live there. Now that I've seen pics I may try to make it down this year.

Great shots, Jerel!
I'm planning to get a little dose of the Keys in June on a sailing trip to The Dry Tortugas and Key West. I hope to do a bit of snorkeling in the Garden Key/Loggerhead Key area.
How are the other corals on the Islamorada reefs? I see lots of sea fans and Gorgo's but what about SPS/LPS/softies?
With a front yard like that, who needs an aquarium???
Dick

Incredible pics, Jerel. Man what I wouldn't give for a tank that looked like that!

Maybe Jon and I can make it down this summer after we get our PADI certification!!

Brooke, I know most people come down in late winter, spring. But summer is the best. Water is usually 78-80, very calm and clear. You don't even need a skin. July, August, Sept is perfect. That would be the perfect kick off to your certifications. You guys keep us posted.

Jerel,

How deep is the reef in the pics? It looks shallow.

Rick,
Usually in the 20-40ft range. In most of these shots there was probably over 100ft vis. Also, not using a strobe gives more demension and depth perception.
Are you coming down this summer??
