LMB feeding

Well, after losing my Diamond Goby to starvation it looks like my LMB might be headed the same direction. If I could catch him I'd return him to the LFS but I think that's going to be impossible. I've never been able to get him to eat any food and he seems he'd rather just clean the rocks instead. Has anyone been successful and supplementing their diet with something? I've had Nori in there and he didn't touch it.

Mine wouldnt touch the algae strips I fed my Scribbled rabbit either. All mine does is just scrapes the film off of the windows. He doesnt even touch the rocks. Have you tried maybe getting some of the algae or seaweed strips, and rubberbanding them to a small rock, maybe he'll fall for that one. Its probably worth a shot.

LMB's can be problematic that way. they will go to town on the diatoms, but not much else.

how often do you need to clean your glass?

Geoff,

I have plenty of diatoms in my tank, he goes to town on the rocks but he's obviously lost quite a bit of his original bulk. I have to clean my glass every 3-4 days and it's just a light haze of algae on it.

i am betting it has internal parasites then. these internal parasites are a royal pain. 75% of all the fish i loose is due to this. they are eating fine, but just not getting enough nutrition. i have tried metronidozole, but that does not seem to help. i just lost my Clown Tang to this. eating like crazy, but just slowly wasted away.
