Light my cube!

Ok, so I was actually going to title this "light my tank" ... but this morning, one of the locals posted on our local board that he just _had_ to sell his 30g Oceanic cube, and the price was too good to pass up.

So rather than a standard 29g, I'm now lighting a 30g cube. Yay!

I've had the gamut of lighting systems in my years reefing, mostly retrofits. I would really like to try one of those all-in-one mount-to-the-top-of-the-tank fixtures to keep this looking as sleek as possible. The problem is, I don't know what I'm looking for.

The tank is 20" across. My first true nano.

I'd like to try a single halide fixture, like a SunPod maybe, but I'm open to T5 and VHO. Or even PC. I plan to keep a smattering of my zoanthid collection in there as a growout tank, and keep it a peaceful tank. (Pipefish/horses anyone?) Or perhaps an anemone/clown species tank. Still, I'd like to have ample lighting - past experience says that it's hard to overlight and I like to keep my options open.

Although the Solaris looks waaay cool, it's way out of my price range, which would ideally be less than $200. (Especially if I can find something used.)

Thoughts? Ideas?

For a softie/zoo tank I would probably do exactally what your thinking with a 150W DE MH, I like the glitter lines, and there are plenty of options out there,.. if you can get one with PC atinics it would be even slicker. If you have your heart set on a really blue bulb however; I would go with 250W. If you do want to do the anonomie and clown setup I would also go 250W.

I'm not into the really blue look, so 10k or 14k is fine. I just don't really know what's out there other than the Sunpod - just wondering what other people use and like.
