I stink at taxonomic classification, need help on another id.

I believe this is a Symphyllia. Can anyone confirm? Also, can someone help with species?

Cool

Need another photo, with flesh as retracted as possible.

Greg, I wish I could help too but I know nothing about foreign corals.

I can't get it to retract, any suggestions. I can't take him out of the water without major effort. Here's another pic expanded and a couple as retracted as I can get him.

Greg,

The taxonomy keys didn't give any distinction, did they?

Hard to tell for sure if the coralite walls are fused or not though, that might be the determining factor.

Oh, try squirting cold water at it with a baster. I noticed my corals didn't like that very much when I did that with phyto right out of the fridge.

Hmmmm...the coralite walls don't look fused to me. If not, I suspect it's a Lobophyhllia sp. L. hemprichii would be my guess but there are a lot better "educated" guessers out there than I

~Alice

Nice pics Greg!

You know, you're right, and I saw that already, but I had it backwards looking at the key. I thought that meant it wasn't Lobophyllia. I told you I stink at this.

Just kidding of course, y'all. Then again, I did notice Jerel came back to look at the new photos as well. Talk about casting stones...
