Can litle giant external pumps that ran dry be fixed?

I have 4 of these laying around the lab that do not work, either ran dry or got severely covered with salt creep. I opened them up and they look ok and make a humming noise when plugged in but no water movement. Is there anything possible to get em working?

I had this same problem with 2 used LG pumps I got. This is how I got mine to work.

I cleaned everything up then pluged the pump in with the impellor cover off. Then I spun the impellor by hand. It feels really stiff then snaps around really quickly. keep doing that while it is plugged in and eventually it will start to trun freely. I think when they have sat for an extended period of time the housing gets magnatized from the impellor so the motor cant spin break the impellor free from the magnetic force. Spinning it by hand until it works on it own fix the problem for both of mine..
