Question

Bizarre-ness with the board

Evidently we still have a few bugs to work out on the board(or rather Steven and Brooke need to work them out as I don't have a clue (sigh) )

I posted to the new reefer-ta-be thread and first it posted twice, in the middle of the thread and then when I deleted the double post, half the thread was gone.

Brook and Steven; do you need TRT members to report any bizarre board behavior to you?

Alice-
That thread seems to be the only one where anything weird is going on and so far the ubb people have no explanation. Yes, please let me know if you spot any bugs. We are going to have to live with the risk of bugs until they do the "official" release of ubb6.

Hi Alice and the rest....

Geeeez....I post one message and already screw up the system! My computer system was down at work all day since late Wednesday so couldn't check e-mail or The Reef Tank. Just got home and logged on and discovered nearly all the previous messages were gone???? I was going to check back on some info that was included in one of the previous messages now it's missing

On the reef side...I spent last night arranging about 70# of new Fiji live rock in the tank, so far not bad for the first pass at arranging and stacking. Thinking about un-doing one section tomorrow that's pretty precarious and remounting with a little marine epoxy...reef fall down go boom is bad....(this make more sense if one remembers the specs for my refer-ta-be tank)

I just posted on that thread and somehow my post went before a post that was posted before my post. (Enough with saying "post"!!!) And who is "reg"? He is member #0??? He registered: "a long time ago"? haha! Could somebody be playing a little trick??? Or system error?

Question

Hey Brooke, et al..

My post about "see this book" has disappeared too! I did a search using my name to find it, and when I clicked on the link, it sent me to another person's post

JJ, if you don't mind, I think I might delete your post so we dont have any gremlins hanging around. Sorry about that. If these are the worst things that happen, then we are pretty lucky.

Well, strange things are happening!! It was my post on JJ's thread that resulted in the Reg from a long time ago!! That wasn't what I typed!! I tried to delete it but try as I might, it just won't go away.

Don't sweat it JJ were all a little bunch of Reefin Gremlins to
I read the posts at the reef tank till 4 plus in the morning my time during the week
Never a dull moment at the tank so no it has not been just b/c of you're post.

The weirdness is what makes reef keeping interesting so were probably all a little weird to

I'm having another problem that may or may not be related to that weird post in JJ's thread. Something is up with my Cookies in Netscape 4.73 because when I read one or two threads, the board will lock up and only load partway. When I try to refresh my browser by deleting fat.db in my cache, it will not delete, so I have to reboot the computer before I can delete fat.db from cache.

Could it be that something happened when the board deleted my and a few other registrations a few weeks ago that somehow UBB is confusing my Cookie with some remnant of my old registration? It seems more than coincidence.

Dick-

I will see if I can get an answer from the ubb help desk about your problem. Do you have internet explorer on your computer?? If so, see what happens when you use it. I do think there are some issues with older versions of netscape. Can you upgrade netscape? I'll try to find an answer for you.
