48" VHO on a 60" tank?
Ive got two electronic VHO ballasts running 4 48" VHOs. If I set my new lighting up (using the VHO for actinic) will the spread from the VHO be enough to cover the 60" span of the tank? I could go to 60" bulb but then Ill have one bulb per ballast and less wattage. I like the idea of 4 bulbs so I can play with the mix of light (actinic,50/50) My stand is 63" and the 55 the lights are on now is 48". There is spill from the VHOs onto the full width of the stand, Im just curious if there is a major reduction in usefull light at an angle. Of course It only 6" on each side.
Also, does the wattage from actinic count as far as total watts that are usefull to the coral? Is there a substantial benifit other than for our viewing pleasure?
