Looking for a JG fitting...

I hate to have to order only a couple of these, so I was wondering if anyone has any 1/4" (tubing) x 1/8" NPTF straight fittings laying around that they could part with. I ordered some last week, but my ignorant self didn't know they measure the inside of the threaded end for the size. That makes no sense to me, since the outer diameter is the number you need to fit into whatever it's going into. The guy said something about they use the ID so you can calculate flow rates, but I still think that's silly. The threads are on the outside, after all...

Anyway, these are (I think) the smallest size they come in. I need a couple for my calcium reactor because one broke last week when I was cleaning it and I'd like to have a spare on hand as well. I know most people don't use them that small, but I figured it would be worth a shot!

TIA...

How many do you need? I think I only have one.

2 would be great, but I only need one to get the second chamber going again.
I got the wrong size with a MD order I got last week. They don't have what I need and I'd pay more in shipping than the actual pieces to get them somewhere else.

Is it like this? This actually 1/4" Tube x 1/4" MNPT. I have a bunch of these.

I think those are the mid-sized ones, Bob. I ordered the 1/4" x 3/8" NPTF since the hole I have to fill is 3/8" diameter. The 3/8" was way too big. It was more like 5/8" OD. I think the 1/8" is what I need, since the diameter of the hole would be 1/8" and the thickness of the walls of the fitting should add another 1/4", making it 3/8" OD. Too confusing...

It's for my old GEO reactor. It's the only thing I've ever seen such small fittings on. It won't be with me much longer, but I have to make do for awhile.

Thanks for checking.

I always get the odd sized fittings at Indelco in St. Louis Park. They now have a all their inventory on the the web at www.indelco.com. Just go around back to the Will Call desk. A little more $$ but no shipping and you can see if its the right size on the spot.
