Cyanide segment on CNN Headline News
Some good news for the reef from CNN HL.
HL News ran a short segment today (Saturday, 29 March 08) about the danger of cyanide fishing to the reef. They said that 1 squirt could kill over a square kilometer of reef within a month.
The story is about a collector that used to use cyanide fishing and how damaging it is to the reef. Also discussed how they had switched to eco-safe fishing method and how well it was working for them.
He was trying to spread the news about how to safely and renewably collect marine fish.
I didn't catch all the details, I missed the first part of the clip, hopefully they will run it again next hour.
Anyway, a little bit of good news from CNN for a change.
