Yellow watchman goby question

I have a 180 barebottom reef, I would like to add a yellow watchman goby. Seeing as I have no sand will it be a problem to keep one? I would love to add one, but not if the fish will suffer.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have barely any sand left in my tank and the YWG is doing fine
it wasn't a great sandsifter when I had sand either so I don't feel bad
