lighting shrooms?

I've got a random question. When/IF I get my 40 gallon tank set up, I'd like to move the green striped mushies out of it, because I don't want them taking over the tank. Instead of trying to sell them somewhere, could I make a small sun-lit tank to keep them in? Something like a 2 gallon tank with a small powerhead and the piece of LR they're on and stick it on my windowsill for them? I know I've heard of people growing them in really cruddy light conditions before, and I can grow plants on my windowsill(have successfully tried some emersed aquatic plants up to amazon swords, some un-id'd cacti, and some bulbs) so I know the light isn't TOO bad on it. Would it be likely to work, or would they be likely to consider that too much abuse? I figure I can always do water changes with old tank water once a week or so.

I want to say it's possible; but I guess that depends on how much direct light actually comes through your window. Should be an intresting experiment, but what about selling the shrooms in preporation for the move so you don't have to store them long?

i agree with whiskey it all depends on how much direct light you window seal gets but if you get good light (and it sounds like you do) you should be able to

I've only got 2 of them, and neither one is really popping with colour, The mama was doing well until she decided to split and now they're both somewhat faded and are crawling down towards the sand from the rock they've been on since I got them, so selling them wouldn't really be a likely possibility. Unless someone really wanted some and couldn't find them anyplace. Although it took me nearly a year to find them myself >_> I guess I'll try it then. How can I tell if they are starting to struggle? Obviously if they bleach out it isn't working, but do they "reach" for light if they need more like corals like zoanthids do?
