Break out your mini surf bords! featured

Installation and Operation Another great Tunze Product. Instillation was pretty easy. Instruction are straight forward and easy to understand. They do some in just about every language the the manual is a bit big. I will sat they this has the standard Tunze clamp on mounting brackets and I hate them. They are very complicated and work marginally at best. If your going to spend $600 on a wave box spend the extra and get the Tunze magnet mounts. You will thank me for that little piece of advice.

I did use the magnets and mounting the box was very simple there is a water level line on the box and with the pump turned off mount the box the the tanks water level is the same as whats on the box. the box is a bit bulky so choose a good spot is hard especially if you want to hide the box. It does not have the be centered on a wall It can be in the far back corner of even with rock all around it as long and the out let has at least 12" of open space in front of it. This unit should be mounted on either if the tank side walls. So the wave is generated along the length of your tank. If you have a large cube tank id would not matter where you locate it.

After you mount it and hook it up all you have left to do is play with the controller. Be patient it can be hard to find the right frequency for you tank.

I love the photo sensor and feed timer although I controlled it with my Reef Keeper.
If your wave is too big there is also a adjustment for power. It raises or lowers the flow. This will not effect the wave itself just the height.

I was also amazed to see that other random current in the tank do not seem to effect the wave.
Once you get the wave set you could turn on or of a very high volume pump (4500gph CLS in my case) with no effect on the wave.

My only complaint is that once the wave is set and running everything moved back and forth to the same rhythm. ALL THE TIME! There is nothing random left, right, left, fright all day long.

Performance vs. Expectations WOW! I was amazed with the amount id debris this unit swept up.
You get the current in all areas of your tank. It moves the entire volume of water even in and behind your rocks.
It performed better than expected and I was for the most part very happy with it. I just got tired of the constant side to side movement with nothing random.

Value for money It's not cheap!
If I had to do it all over again I would not have got this unit. Why? I want more randomness and a CLS with a 4 way valve was the better option for me. Some people do mot have that option and this wave box woudl be perfect for them.

Customer Support I never had to call about this unit but Roger at Tunze USA is great to deal with and will usually bend over backwards to help you out!

Liked about it Low power consumption.
It moves a lot of water! The entire tanks volume to be specific.
Super quite. Except for a little gurgle from time to time.
Tunze Quality and Service is second to none!

Didn't like It's is large and bulky.
It's basically a 6105 stream in a box so why the huge price tag?
Very static flow always back and forth.
THE PRICE! THE PRICE! THE PRICE!

Great Wavebox!

General you pay for quality here, but this works very well. Installed in combination with some 6105's and this works tremendously well. If you don't mind the extra space it needs and you have it, this can create a unique look in the aquarium.

Liked about it Power Efficient, does what it says

Didn't like Pricey!
