Great Wavebox

Installation and Operation It took a few goes at it to get this thing installed and operating correctly. I still find myself tweaking it every now and then. In fact, I feel like it needs to get readjusted every few months, but that may be just me. The instructions are like most instructions for saltwater products - they leave a lot to be desired. I think Ikea should branch out into doing instructions for all fields. That would've helped a lot.

Performance vs. Expectations The unit performs admirably, considering its just a small impeller. The design is great, and very reliable. Water tends to spray on top, depending on the water level in your tank. My reef inhabitants love it. There are other options out there, but most wavemakers are so expensive I had to make a choice. I would've loved to try out the competing vortech, but that was even more expensive, though it looks like it gives you more configuration options. I have seen some use another wavemaker on ebay, due to the affordability.

Value for money This this, like the other guy said, is not cheap. But my product had a defect and the local rep I contacted, who works for Tunze, replaced it quickly. I was impressed with that response.

Customer Support Like I said, my controller had a problem with the unit. I contracted the local rep for Tunze and he mailed a replacement controller asap. I was impressed with this.

Liked about it I like the wave options, I like the look, I like the performance. I like the affect on reef inhabitants.

Didn't like I didn't like the size/footprint. Other units are smaller like the vortex, or larger like custom ones on ebay. Did not like how expensive this unit was given the parts used to make it. I wish there were more configuration options, as far as aquascaping goes. Plus, configuring this product takes a lot of time. I haven't been able to get the displacement higher than 2 inches, like some. Additional waveboxes are pricey!

Tunze Nano Wavebox

General These things aren't cheap but the effect on the tank is undeniable. They make a great wave motion from just about anywhere on the side wall of the tank. I have mine pointed right at the overflow box and have moved it out off the back wall with no real difference in the wave made across the tank. If you can afford one on a smaller tank I would definitely recommend it.

Liked about it Creates a great wave in my 70 Tech. It is slim and against a black background is hardly noticeable. Setup was easy and within ten minutes I had a great wave motion in my tank.

Didn't like It's not cheap. Also I think it would be better to have to magnet holders for securing the box. The unit just has one in the middle and it seems like it would be more solid with two.
