Sweet pump!!!!!!
| Installation and Operation |
I found the instalitaion to be fairly easy.. I'm no expert plumber but with using unions for easy detachments for cleaning, PVC, and liquid tape there were no leaks.. Instructions were fairly basic there is nothing special you have to do for instaliation..

This is running my 90 gallon return and all of my reactors and pretty much everything that needs a water supply.. And this thing can pump!!!! I absolutely love this pump.... Would never buy any other name brand...
|
| Value for money |
Comparing it to the iwaki, blueline, little giant, coralife, and all the other pumps out there this one may be a bit pricey but it's worth every penny.. With this pump there is no worries.. It will do it job and then some.. I personally feel they underrated there gph..

First and most important it's so quiet I cannot even hear it run.. I mounted this upside down intake facing the ground on the side wall of my cabinet next to a blueline and didn't even know it was on.. I did not add a pad for noise reduction just screwed ot to the wall..

The one and only thing I have bad to say is the mounting holes are not that excess able.. One is ok the other is behind the power inlet box and if you don't have a 10" or longer screwdriver or screwdriver tip (for power tools) you cannot access it.. Other than that it's an awesome pump!!!!!

Awesome pump
| Installation and Operation |
A little difficult to install. Lots of planning is required if you want to stick this pump in a cramped area that was not initially designed to around such a monster pump with its large diameter plumbing requirements.
I got this pump to power an MRC MR2 skimmer with dual becketts, it does the job wonderfully. A lot more skimmate potential, while consuming only 10 more watts than the Panworld 150PS that it replaced.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
Performs to MFG specs. The head/wattage/flow charts seem spot on.

I bought mine (baldor motor) used for about half price. After seeing design and build quality, I would have absolutely no problems paying retail.
Mine was in a pretty hostile environment before I got it and was covered in salt spray and had pretty heavy aluminum corrosion. I completely disassembled down to the rotor, cleaned and brushed everything back up, repainted & cold galvanized and replaced all the fasteners with the stainless equivalent. Lower quality designs would have been beyond saving but this pump with its rock solid TEFC design and will literally last a lifetime if well cared for.

Top notch. I noticed the seal spring was a tad rusted so I contacted the company. Within an hour I had a new seal kit on the way and at no charge (under warranty). Make sure to contact the company when need a replacement seal (inevitable by design) they charge half what third party vendors do.

- Build quality & design, decent material choices, gasketing around all the potential leak points.
- The quietest of the fan cooled pumps. Very well balanced, no vibration, can be directly coupled to rigid plumbing with no noise transmittance.
- No motor heat added to the water.

- The biggest harp I would have is the rotor material choice. It's plain steel. This means rust if your seal leaks and you don't notice it for a while. Stainless steel would have been awesome, but it would also drive the price up. The dart gold includes a stainless rotor, so reeflo does give you options for a wetter environment operation, at a cost.
- Another material choice, the motor casing, fan housing, and capacitor & power cover screws are steel. These should have definitely been stainless since they would have incurred only slightly higher MFG costs.

Wow!!

I am going to replace my Iwaki return pump with one of these badboys as soon as I get a little extra cash. |
| Liked about it |
What a pump!! I am using this pump on my MR-3 with dual becketts. It replaced a genx55. When I first turned it on I had no clue it was running until I noticed that the becketts were whistling and water had filled the skimmer! The Dart is whisper quiet. It pushes a large volume of water (3600 gph) with a modest amount of wattage (160 watts). It is always cool to the touch and I noticed my temps went down in the tank as well as the ambient temps in my wetroom. My old Genx55 was hot to the touch and added 1-2 degrees of heat to my system.

It's not pressure rated and not submersible. I knew that going in, so no problems there.

Exellent pump for a closed loop under 125g
| Installation and Operation |
Installation for these pumps is not always plug and play. with a 2" in and 1.5" out there is usually some serious plumbing involved. But that of no fault of Reeflo. As far as the pump it's self it is ready to go right tout of them box.
Super quiet and energy efficient these make a great closed loop pump or a return for a larger system.
I have had both the A.O Smith and Baldor versions and have to say the Baldor are 10x better than the A.O. Smith.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
This pump perform as expected as always.
Tons of flow with very little noise and they will not hurt the electric bill too much.
I had high exceptions for this pump from reading review online and must say it lives up to it's hype.
|
| Value for money |
They are not cheap over $350 for the new Baldor versions but you will not find a pump of this quality and flow for less.

I have called them a few times for unrelated issues and they have always been great to work with and very helpful.

Wonderful Pump
| General |
It might just be my pump, but it was a little loud for my taste. Reeflo tells me it should not be as loud as it is, and they are sending me bearings free of charge. Great customer service from them!!! Overall though the pump is great. I moved it to my 100 gallon saltwater mixing container, mixes the salt well!!! |

My LFS set up my 95g tank using the dart as a return pump 3 1/2 years ago
it has been a very dependable pump and I have been very pleased with it |
| Liked about it |
It is a very dependable and quiet pump (IMO) - it is doing a great job as my return pump even though it is in the basement below the tank - Sequence also has excellent customer service and handled a problem in a very satisfactory and efficient manner

Reeflo Dart
| General |
This is in my opinion the heart of the reeflo line. Just an all around great pump. I used this pump in a closed loop with an Ocean's motions 4-way and loved it. it was fairly quiet considering the flow and required very little maintenance. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one of these. |

Just an all-out great pump. Great flow at good price and low power usage.

It took a couple tries to get the fittings screwed in right to keep the pump from leaking. Once it was done though, it ran flawlessly for many years.
