Great External Pump
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to install. Standard plumbing works fine and can bolt down to the floor of your stand if you want.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
This exceeding my expectations. 1750gph, and the torque behind it, really went a long way. I, basically, had 0 head loss on my closed-loop system. My overflows couldn't keep up so I had to throttle it back!
|
| Value for money |
Decently priced, but there are others out there now that can compete without much problem. Was it worth the price? That's a definite "maybe." It really depends on what you need it for. This pump would have been great if I had a fish room in the basement, or something like that.

| Liked about it |
1) Massive head pressure 2) Quieter than a lot of externals out there. 3) Aesthetically pleasing, IMO
|
| Didn't like |
1) The low humming noise really got on my nerves after awhile. 2) Power consumption caused me to explore other alternatives... that's really all I can think of.

I clean the fan/intake area twice a year just to keep it clean and quiet

Is everything I was expecting. Quiet + power + low heat impact to the water.

| General |
I'm very impressed with the Pan World/Blueline pumps. I've had three over the years and each of them has run flawlessly. |

This thing is a beast. I've had this pump for several years and it has ran flawlessly. Initially I ran it as a closed loop pump through a series of spraybars under my live rock. Eventually I moved it and have been using it as my main return pump for my 300-gallon system. The pump is located in the wetroom, approximately a 40' run from the display and has quite a bit of head. This pump has no trouble getting the flow I need into the tank for about six times turn over. I actually have to throttle it back some.

It is a higher energy use pump, but as mentioned it is a beast and it takes electricity for this kind of horsepower. I do have to clean the fan a little more frequently on this pump to keep it running quietly.
