Awesome pump, weird fittings 
| Installation and Operation |
It doesn't take long to get this pump up and running like you want, instructions are straight forward and the hose barb fittings that come with it are a great addition. The pump is quiet and reliable. I have only had it about three weeks, but I have mixed saltwater with it, pumped it from the garage to my tank about 40 feet away laterally, and I have been using it as my return pump from my sump as well. All of the applications worked well.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
It has a ton of head pressure, which is a major plus when pumping water from one room to another. I liked the fact that it was able to be run in or outside of the sump, I run it in sump just because its easier for me to deal with that way. The pump I recieved pulled about 62watts with a small 3-4 foot head. When I was running water from the garage to my sump.....40ish feet lateral it pulled about 68 watts. I would like to see it pull a little less power but its very effiecient in the water that it pushes now.

I would say for the money, your getting what you pay for. These pumps are cheap, and neither is the quality. Everything is made out of high quality plastic, not the little cheap flemsy stuff. I like the sponge prefilter that comes with it and the cage that holds the prefilter. It really helps catch debris that you dont want back in your tank. If you really wanted you could always just cut out any filter pads to replace the sponge, which is a major benefit over the circular prefilters. It will save you money in the long run.

PVC fittings and hose barb fittings are metric....make finding the right stuff kinda hard. I had to take the hose barb with me everywhere I went to make sure the hose would fit. I am not crazy about the energy it sucks, but with 600gph....its to be expected.

Unbeatable
| Installation and Operation |
Installation is as followed: plug and.... that's about it! it really doesn't need any maintainance if you don't want to. but if you have time, once in a long while, take it out and shake it under water to get those nasty detritus out, you'll see what i mean.

Worth the money spent
| Installation and Operation |
Installation was quite easy and the included hose barbs are a nice addition.

Performs as well as expected which is more than one might say for other pumps in the class. I use this pump as a mixing pump and return from my salt storage container and it is bulletproof.

You get what you pay for. You can spend a little less for a pump which will fail long before an Eheim, but why would you?

Eheim 1260 return pump
| General |
I wanted a return pump that was as quiet as possible, energy efficient, and reliable. This fits the bill on all three. It does not add much heat to the system, and provides the right amount of flow for my sump/skimmer so my overflow is not too loud. I know of several people who have been running these for 10 years. With a vinegar soak every 6 months, these come out working as good as new. |

Best out there, wish they made larger pumps

Great pumps, one of the best out there, if not the best. You simply cannot find a more durable pump for your tank. The hose locks work great, but it is difficult to find hose that works with them here in the states. I would prefer that the fittings were in SAE instead of metric as finding any metric fittings here is pretty near impossible. |

Good pump
| General |
I've used mine as a return pump mounted externally to reduce heat.
The housing is sealed very well and no leaks with a lot of on and offs during feedings. |

while I like the idea of the hose locks, I have trouble finding hose to fit other than the Eheim brand.
Metric! Finding fittings is near impossible in the states.
