A great pump for a great price.
Installation and Operation
This pump has it's flaws but it's all in all an ok pump if your on a budget, but depending on where you buy, it's actually pretty expensive compared to other better quality pumps.

Performance vs. Expectations
It actually had less pressure than I thought, at 45 watts, I thought this thing would really push? It was a little louder than expected, but over a mouse pad, its nice an quiet, but till gives out a hummmmmm....

Value for money
Honestly, I rather get a better pump, unless you use this pump outdoors.

Customer Support
No problems.

Liked about it
- Quiet, under a mouse pad or filter pad.
- Nice size
- Great GPH & Head Hight
- Can me plumbed externally or submersed... I'm pretty sure, don't try it without calling the company first. I had seen a site that mentioned you can use it externally.
- heavy duty three prong cord.
- Easy to change impeller
- Gets slightly warm, your like WHAT, I like this because I have florescent lights on my freshwater, they give off very little heat, and since the addition of my wet/dry and this pump, the water heater has been working 50% less! If you have heat problems this may become an issue.
- The included plastic "stand" can be removed, or placed on any of the four sides.
|
Didn't like
- Loud if not muffled
- Needs more pressure, at 45 Watts I guess its decent, but could be better.
- Heat can become an issue in a REEF with hot Medal Halides.
- expensive compared to more quiet models.

these pumps can run for ever with proper maintenance i used these pumps for over 20 years on my tanks and in my ponds with very few problems i can't say enough about how reliable they are. they make a great utility pump for water change tanks

Didn't like
the only real down side to these pumps is that they do run warm adding unwanted heat to the tank water.
i did have one that the ceramic shaft broke in half
