If found in the lower price range, it's a good utility pump
| Installation and Operation |
I used this as my primary return pump for a number of years. It worked well, I used it to flow through a chiller and then up a split to my dual return. While the head loss was pretty considerable, it still worked consistently and gave me decent flow to the display. Due to the way I had it plumbed, the pump sat at an angle, which eventually wore out the housing, but Danner swapped it out all the same.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
Honestly it worked pretty well compared to the conditions I put it in. What I also like, though this is true of most pumps designed like this, is that at higher pressure it actually runs at lower wattage. In my application, I was only drawing about 60W of power to run this pump.
|
| Value for money |
At 0 head, it's hard to find a pump that pushes this much water for this price. However, if you're using it in high pressure scenarios that require high flow rates, you'll want to look for other options.

| Customer Support |
I have dealt with danner in the past, and each time I call someone answers directly (in lieu of a telephone system). For my mag 18, I've had them send me a brand new unit due to wear issues even after a couple years without more than proof of purchase. As I recall, these pumps carry a 3 year warranty, and Danner stands behind them.

Great warranty, it fired up well and consistently and ran rather quietly. I couldnt hear it under my tank with the stand doors closed. It also drew little power and, in my experience, didnt add much heat to the tank. However, I was dealing with 200 gallons, so on a smaller system it may have a different result.

| Didn't like |
It wasnt well suited to operating on non-level surfaces, as the impeller housing wore out within about 30 months of consistent use. However, danner did send me a new pump at their cost, so I appreciated their warranty.

little powerhouse
| Installation and Operation |
Easy to install fits almost anywhere and just add a hose and its ready to go.
Requires a lot of maintenance that is not hard but keeping the internal housing clean is a must.

This pump worked better that i thought it would.

It is great for beginners that don't want to worry about plumbing just a plug and go operation

This thing needs a mount or something to reduce vibration. setting it on a bare sump floor is a mistake. A foam pad or something needs to be placed below. I Wish it had a set of rubber feet to sit on.

Best choice for what it is
| General |
Not sure why the screws have rusted so quick on mine or why it is clicking. Everyone else seems to have very good luck with them. |
| Liked about it |
It does what it is supposed to. It is well sealed and has good flow.
|
| Didn't like |
Screws rusted and pump will click every so often which is disappointing since it is only 5 months old.

Excellent Pump
| General |
These pumps are all I use. I am currently running 4 of them and they work flawlessly. They are easy to install and are super quiet as well. Did I mention reliability....When I hear return pump, danner is the first name that comes to mind. |
