Hydro Koralia Nano Evolution 425

The new and improved Koralia Nanos now come in 2 models, 240 gph and 425 gph, but remain super compact and efficient. The magnet suction support and sphere joint have been strengthend and modified allowing better flow direction. Both models can be safely run on a timer. Just choose which model is best suited for your aquarium and watch your creatures benefit from...

Nice supplemental flow featured

Installation and Operation This power head is as easy as any of the other Evolution power heads - install the head to the cup, put in place, and secure with the magnet.

Performance vs. Expectations I find this head to be nice as a supplemental flow in my 75 gallon. Granted, in smaller tanks, it's benefits would be more obvious.

Value for money I use it as flow for behind the LR. Spacing 5 of these across 48" does exactly what I need them to do.

I could have probably used two more larger powerheads to do something similar, but I like the subtlety these flow rates provide. I wouldn't have purchased 5 of them if it wasn't worth it.

Customer Support Have not needed to contact them.

Liked about it This powerhead provides nice supplemental flow to the tank. I use 5 of them across the back of the tank to keep dead spots up front where I can reach to siphon.

* Ease of use

* Up and running in no time.

Didn't like Two things:

I need to be careful when turning them back on. They sometimes start in reverse. Easily fixed by finding it's plug, unplugging, and trying again.

Lack of range of motion. I modifid the way the clip attached to the powerhead to get the "straight-down flow" results that I wanted.

Gets the job done

Installation and Operation Completely easy to set-up - take it out of the box, place it where you want, put the magnet on the tank, and plug it in. It operates exactly how it's supposed to so I have no complaints.

Performance vs. Expectations So far i've had no problem with performance. I use it in my 20 gallon tank so the one that I have is all I need for the entire setup. Obviously, if you have a larger tank, you'll probably need more than one or a higher power one.

Value for money Decent price, definitely worth it. I use it to create enough water movement for my anemones and they both have settled in various spots along the stream it creates so, it does exactly what I bought it for.

Customer Support Haven't had to yet.

Liked about it It's very quiet, can't hear it at all.

*It creates just enough circulation in my tank to keep the water flowing nicely.

*The size is perfect for my 20g, don't really need any more than one for small tanks.

Didn't like It doesn't necessarily eliminate ALL the "dead spots", most, but not all.

*And the range of motion isn't that great.

Decent

Installation and Operation It is very easy to install. Though getting the magnets inside the suction cups can be a bit tedious.

Performance vs. Expectations It doesn't feel or seem all that powerful. I fail to see too much of a difference between this and the 240gph model.

Value for money Great for the price.

Customer Support Haven't had to.

Liked about it It is very small, which makes it easy to place almost anywhere. It also disperses the flow well, instead of having one straight jet like most other powerheads.

Didn't like Doesn't seem like a 425gph pump. But maybe its just because the flow is dispersed. Also, the magnets will occasionally fall out of the suction cups.

Best in its class.

Installation and Operation It was tough to get the ball joint inserted into the rubber receiver. Also not the easiest to aim, with a tendency to pull back toward center. This has gotten better over a few weeks. No other assembly required. Of course the magnetic suction cups are great. It sits nice and tight, right where I placed it.

Performance vs. Expectations Met my expectations are exceeded. The pump is incredibly compact and produces nearly as much flow as the 550 I have, which is twice the size. I have had no issues with reversal of flow; it performs perfectly.

Value for money Great value. The pump is of the highest quality, yet is 1/4 the cost of competitors.

Customer Support Haven't had to call.

Liked about it 1. Amazing power, considering its micro-size.
2. Solid construction.
3. Strong, broad flow.

Didn't like 1. I think they could work on the ball & socket mount; improve it.

perfect for adding moderate flow areas

Installation and Operation couldn't be easier to install. connect, point, plug, done. I have 2 in my display tank pointing right at some corals that like a little more flow than they were getting.

Performance vs. Expectations performs perfectly. I have had no problems at all and they have been running practically non stop for 2 months now.

Value for money best price I could find for similar products.

Liked about it simple, low key, and efficient. the price was great.

Didn't like only thing I didn't like was ghe length of the cord, it was a bit short imo.
