Searched X-10 Alarm Module in Reviews

This one actually worked for me! featured

Installation and Operation Unlike the other reviewer this is the one X10 products that seem the most solid.
I never had a false alarm.

Instillation was a breeze. All you do is set the channel and plug it in.
This is a great little feature for X10 to have since it was primarily developed for home lighting control.

when used with a aquarium controller on a reef tank this alarm is great for many things from temp, PH, even sump level if used with float switches.

I think there are two possibilities that allowed this to work flawless for me.
One is that I have it located upstairs away from the reef and noise of the halide lights, Plasma Tv, etc...
The other may have been brand.

The unit also had terminals that you could connect to an external audible of visual alarm.

Performance vs. Expectations I really had no expectations for this particular modules like I did for the rest of the X10 modules.
I got this in a kit and really did not know I was getting it.
It is a great little add on when using X10 on a reef controller.

Value for money At about $20 I would say when used with an aquarium controller and if you invest in the noise filters to keep the system running it is a good investment.

Customer Support I never had any issues with this unit that required customer service.

Liked about it This alarm was very loud.
It actually worked as opposed to most of the other X10 modules.
Simple to control and install.
Price it is very affordable it is one of the most expensive X10 modules at abour $20 but I think it was worth it.

Didn't like It was loud.
I likes that about it and disliked it at the same time.

good idea, not a great followthrough

Installation and Operation I found this unit was way too prone to giving false alarms as a result of bad signals through the house, and a day didnt go by without doing so. I tried to use it in combination with my AquaController 3, but was unable to get it to work as hoped (I tried two separate units throughout various areas of the house).

Performance vs. Expectations Pretty low measure here. I was pretty disappointed in how easily it got false signals. I think interference with other powered devices makes it go off, which it would do regularly without intention.

Value for money These are pretty cheap, especially if found on auction websites, but unless you have a very clean connection (using a dedicated and filtered power supply), I would expect it to be inadequate for your needs. I don't think it has a very good value, personally.

Liked about it It's cheap, so that's nice, but otherwise I was pretty disappointed. It is small and the features are well thought out on paper, but unfortunately it didnt work out in my application.

Didn't like The biggest negative was simply that it provided so many false alarms. If it worked consistently, it would have been a life saver.
