Hannah Checker Alkalinity Handheld Checker

Designed exclusively for saltwater aquariums, the Hanna Alkalinity Checker offers a quick, easy and highly accurate method of checking one of the most important water parameters for salt water aquaria. - - Alkalinity helps to maintain a stable pH, a vital factor for most aquatic life. Corals also need an adequate level of alkalinity in order to support healthy growth: if levels are too low, corals cannot precipitate and form their skeletons; if levels fluctuate too much or too quickly, growth can become impaired. - - The more precise and stable the levels, the better the results. With regular, precise monitoring, fluctuations in levels can be quickly corrected, giving your corals the best chance of success. -

Awesome Tool! featured

Installation and Operation Product installation is fairly simple, unscrew the bottom screw, insert the battery, and screw the screw back on. Its as easy as that.

Performance vs. Expectations It performs like a champ, I couldnt be happier! I cant wait for the whole line to come out so I can buy all of them! Its easy to use and gives numbers that are easy to use, instead of trying to match the colors on a chart.

Value for money Its a little pricey...BUT...you get what you pay for and its worth every penny! Your aquatic pets are looking for you to help keep them alive....quality testing will help you do that.....and this is quality testing!

Customer Support Have not had to deal with the company

Liked about it I love the compact size, easy use, quality componets, case to keep everything in, plenty of solution to do a lot of tests, and the pure value. If you compare your trident tests by every other company in which you have to guess at your numbers.......your paying 30-50 a box....and you get a bunch of tests....but then you have to buy it again. With this bad boy......you just buy more solution which is much less. So in the long run it will save you money on testing.....and you can test much quicker with this.

Didn't like I dont like that the reading is in PPM.....its not a big deal once you get used to it.......but you have to get used to it, and what it converts to. The part that holds the tube should not get dirty.....but if it did, you would have to be very gentle and caring when cleaning it, as there is a photocell in there and im sure any harsh cleaning methods would be detrimental to that photocell.

Worth Every Penny!

Installation and Operation There is no installation of this product. Instructions could be a bit better but after watching instructions by Mr. Saltwater Tank on YouTube, ease of use is exceptional.

Performance vs. Expectations The Alk checker definitely lived up to all of the hype.

Value for money At $50, I was a bit skeptical about purchasing the checker. Turns out, it was money well spent. Hanna also sells reagent refills for relatively cheap.

Liked about it I feel confident that the Hanna Alk Checker is giving me accurate readings time after time. There is limited room for error as there is no color changes to eye up or drops to count. I can check my DKH in a matter of 1-2 minutes.

Didn't like There is nothing negative I can add to this review. I recommend this product to anyone who would like a simple, accurate and user friendly test kit.

I lost a lot of coral....

Installation and Operation When I first purchased this I tested it against my salifert kit and the results where the same. I thought good enough then I started loosing corals....Everything checked out with the chemistry but I got to thinking that it was odd that the product did not come with a control to test against to ensure your result was within a reasonable tolerance.

Performance vs. Expectations The product after using for a period of a few months I discovered was inaccuarate within 2.0 points. This is a problem if your test result says your at 9.9 and not 11.9 and you dose....

Value for money I lost many very expensive pieces. A Pearlberry, Green Slimer, Monticaps etc. So for me the cost of using this product was really high.

Liked about it If it worked like they claimed it would have been a great thing.

Didn't like inaccurate within 2.0
Large loss of coral
no test solution to ensure your result is correct
