I find myself returning to salifert tests over other brands for their wide range of tests as well as their tolerance of results. This kit is good, probably my favorite nitrite kit.

Liked about it

This test is very easy to use, and the instructions are clear. simply take 1ml of tank water and add one scoop of the powder and let the vial sit for a few minutes. The results are relatively easy to read, the color chart is clear and it's pretty simple to distinguish the difference between the values.

Didn't like

My biggest complaint with the nitrite kit is the cost. It's not even that expensive, but seeing as nitrite is almost never needed to be measured after the tank is established, I think this is a bit of a pointless expense. In my experience, you're better off just waiting and allowing the tank to cycle. I'd probably still buy this kit over a test strip, but if I found really cheap test strips I'd use those for nitrite (which is certainly an exception).
