This kit gives decent results, but in general it's not as good as other brands. If you can buy this for a good price, it's worthy of consideration, but I find other brands that I use are a bit more repeatable and tend to give more consistent results.

This does have a relatively high fidelity output. The results can be read in about 20ppm intervals. Comparing that to the elos brand, this is far superior, and well on par with the salifert test. So if this can be found cheaper than those tests (which is often the case), it's certainly a good choice for general magnesium maintenance. The color change for the titration is pretty dynamic as well for the red sea kit, which is a complaint I've had with the salifert kit.

This is certainly a complicated test compared to a number of other red sea test kits. The instructions are a little unclear, but you probably won't have any big issue figuring them out. The packaging is not great, as you have to mostly reassemble the box to get everything to fit when storing the product, but otherwise this is a decent test kit.

Magnificant Magnesium!

Testing your magnesium levels has never been so easy. I love this test kit! It has everything you need to get accurate and quick readings. Tests consists of three parts, the last part is the one you have to add in intervals to accurately measure your levels. It is very accurate and with this kit you can get your tank nice and stable. Magnesium is too often overlooked when its one of the more important additives in your tank. Great test kit!

Test tube is marked accurately, and the syringes are very useful. Most kits don't include syringes, but Red Sea goes all out and makes it easy on us. The test is easy to read. Its either Blue or Pink.....Blue is final color, there is no colors between the pink and blue so there is no guess work. Great test and incredibly accurate if carried through correctly.

I don't like having to read the instructions because there's more than 7 steps. Testing is time consuming, and has to be carried out in a specific manor, but its to be expected to get the results that you desire.
