so to begin, the elos product line for test kits is top notch. they make great products that provide consistent and accurate results. this is terribly important and (oddly) not always the case with test kits, so they definitely have that going for them. This kit comes with everything needed to perform way more tests than you're likely every going to need.

The instructions are clear and the test is generally easy to perform. The color charts are easy to read. Overall, it's a good test kit, but not overwhelmingly so.

The biggest complaint about this test kit is the cost. As I've pointed out with other ammonia tests, you generally only need to test for ammonia early in a tank's life. Once your done cycling the tank, you'll never use the kit again. As a result, I find it very hard to justify the cost of this kit for using it for a couple weeks and then letting it sit on the shelf and (likely) expire. These don't come with any best-by dates, so knowing how long it lasts is a guess at best. Even when you are actively going through a cycle, needing precision is very low. Any levels of ammonia mean you're not ready for adding fish or other livestock, so knowing exactly how much you have is relatively pointless. In my experience, you're better off with just a test strip for ammonia (which is certainly the exception), as they're cheap, easy to use, and give you all the information you need.
