I think that API kits are under rated. They are fairly accurate in my experience. I have used this Ammonia kit several times and have always gotten good results. And compared to other kits that cost several times more money I say these are just fine for most situations. Basically with Ammonia you are either looking for a reading or for it to be zero, because there shouldn't be any in a mature reef tank.

Really good price, and they are very easy to use. And you can test both fresh and salt water with the same kit. Incase you want to test you RO/DI water like I do from time to time.

I wish they gave you a measuring syringe for the water instead of just a line on the vial, because I would feel thats more accurate.

Works excellent and simple.

Excellent value here
| General |
When it come to tests such as ammonia and nitrate, I feel that the API kit is more than adequate. In my opinion there is no reason to spend any more money than neccesary. You do not want any ammonia in the system and this test kit can tell you that. |

Great and inexpensive test kits
| General |
I use API kit regularly. They are cheap, quick and easy to use. To be safe I do also test with another higher quality tests just to keep a closer eye on my water parameters.
All in all for the proce and ease of use they are great tests! |
