I am not sure if there is a way to gauge if this product performs as advertised, however I can say that I used it in the center of my sump which was a fast flowing refugium as best and had good results with the production of spaghetti algae.

the product looked like it was rich in nutrients like adding fertilizer to a plant bed. did not stir easily after it was put in the sump and allowed to settle.

Decent Product
| General |
I used this substrate in an in sump refugium application. Seemed to do a good job as far as microfauna propagation but I think I will use oolite the next time. This substrate tended to clump and required stirring occasionally to ensure good water diffusion. Not something I have needed to do with regular Argonite sand. |
