Won't use anything else featured

Comments Everything was just as I expected. I was looking for a coarser sand to start my new tank, something that wouldn't stir up easily and take forever to settle. This is it! It looks very nice and the price was very comparable to everything else out there. I won't buy any other type of live sand for any new tanks I start in the future definitely. Even with all the flow from my return pump and my 2 power heads the sand stays put and doesn't budge. My last tank was setup with typical live sand and it was very fine. This was before I knew much about saltwater tanks. After initially putting the sand into the tank, it must have taken 3 days for the tank to clear and everytime I would clean the tank some of the sand would get stirred up and it would stay cloudy for hours afterwards. With this, it stirs up the fine stuff a little if I move the sand at the bottom but it quickly settles. I can pick up a hand full of the sand, take it to the top of my tank and drop it and it would fall right back down to the bottom without blowing all around the tank. I really love it.

Liked about it Coarse, settles fast. Doesn't leave the tank cloudy for hours. Provides good base for the live rock and structures in the tank. My Tangs love to pick off the top of it. Looks excellent, just as you would expect.

Didn't like Can't think of anything here. Everything has been great so far.

the best sand on the market

Comments This is my favorite sand on the market. It is the perfect size for even high flow tanks, but not so large that it's not good for sand sifting or burrowing fish. I don't use it for particularly deep sand beds, but for a couple inches it's a great product. This particular bag is a little bit more expensive if you're buying a large volume of this sand; for those applications I'd look into the 40 pound product.

Liked about it The grain size is perfect. From 1.0 to 2.0 mm, this sand won't have a dune-ing problem that is common in high flow SPS tanks. If you're using something else, I'd highly recommend considering this product in the future. It also has a great composition and should help buffer tank alkalinity and pH.

Didn't like My only negative here is the size of the bag. At 15 pounds, this isnt going to go very far. If you want to cover a large area, consider buying the larger bags.

GREAT for a high flow reef!

General I have used this on all mt tank and have suggested it to many other people. Every person I know who has used it has loved it.

I have a 125 with 12,000gph flow and this substrate does not move around at all.

If your tired of the sand storms with finer aragonite try Carib Sea Special Grade Reef Floor...

You wont regret it!

Liked about it It's a great size not too small not too large
Stays put even in a high flow reef.
for the most part it's clean (free of debris)
Look very nice as long as it's kept clean.
easy to clean and does not siphion out.

Didn't like Took a long time to rinse but so do all the others.

BEST substrate on the market!!!!!

Comments I switched to this from a sugar sized agronite sand and this is much better for a reef tank with any kind of flow.

Liked about it 1. size of the grains you can use a gravel vac and get the detrius out and not have your stuff blown all over the corals.
2. the look looks like something you would imaging being on the reef floor.
3. Price you cant beat the price either.

Didn't like I can't think of one thing I don't like about this substrate.

Great substrate

General I am using this currently in my 180 gallon sps and it does a great job staying in place. No sand storms unless a powerhead ends up blowing directly on the sandbed. Easy to vaccum and keep clean (I only have a 1.5 to 2" deep bed. Looks great if kept clean.

Liked about it Grain size
No sandstorms in higher flow tanks

Didn't like Takes awhile to rinse clean
