too small for my preferences
| Comments |
I'm not a huge fan of this sand. It has small grain size (from 0.5mm to 1.0mm) and doenst come in large packages. You'll end up using a large volume if you rely on this exclusively to populate your tank. I'd much sooner recommend a dry counterpart than using this product.

This bahama live sand does have a good color, and it's actually a good product if you have a low flow tank with a lot of burrowing fish (such as wrasses or some gobies). But in any other application, I'd look towards something different.

Three thoughts here. First, I don't see a point to buying live sand. It's expensive in comparison to dry sand, and you're buying it by weight. So by weight, the water makes this product heavier, meaning you're paying more for less sand. Second, I don't like putting something in my tank that I don't know exactly what it is, and possible hitchhikers make this product a non-starter for me. Finally, the grain size is simply too small for my applications. High flow will blow around these smaller particles, so I'm looking for a larger grain size product.

Worth the money for a quick sand bed
| Comments |
This product is great for anyone who does not have access to a well established tank to take live sand from. Adding it to a new tank will cause the start up to be much less stressful with less algae blooms then if you did not have a live sand bed. I reccomend this product if you do not want to wait months to get live sand.

Comes with plenty of beneficial bacteria, pods and other things needed in your sand bed, has a perfect grain size! Does not get blown around but also isn't big chunks all around the tank which would trap detritus.

Pricey, but it is worth it if you need some quick live sand, in my opinion live sands can come filled with nitrates and phosphates, so you have to be careful.

Best sand you can buy!
| General |
This sand is the perfect grain! It weighs enough to not get blown around, and it is light enough to not trap deitritus. The fish love it, the inverts love it, and every visitor in my house loves the bleached white sand that is always clean. |
