this sand has a wide range of grain size that is generally suitable for most tanks, including those that house sand sifting or burrowing fish. I've used it a few times, but it's not my first choice of caribsea products. It has a grain size from 0.2mm to 2.2mm, and is pink in color.

Liked about it

This sand does have a nice color, and it is nice for fish that require a sandbed. If you're looking for a small amount of livesand to get a system started, this may be a good choice, but I typically lean towards larger bags of dry sand for my applications.

Didn't like

The grain size is kind of all over the place, with sizes that are rather small to a good size at 2.2mm. The smaller pieces may be blown around in high flow, so having issues with sand dunes could be the case in tanks with a lot of pumps or areas of dynamic flow. This bag is also relatively small, if you're looking to build a large sand bed you're going to need a lot of this product. Also, I'm not in favor of buying live sand over dry products. I do not see the value in spending the extra money on a sand that will only become the same thing eventually (as dry sand will populate and work the same in a couple months). For the cost, you're better investing in dry sand at cheaper rates, maybe using one or so bags of this to help get the bacteria seeding moving along.
