Mixes clear

Comments 1st bucket. Been using Kent Reef Salt. Just trying to see what the hype is about. It seems to be very consistent with label on ca/mag/alk at 1.025 SG.

Liked about it Mixes clear very quickly. This was done by directions. Salt added to 66deg water and stirred with a piece of 1" pvc in my vat.

Didn't like Having to wait for the 66deg water to heat up to 77deg to test SG. Having to scale the salt, instead of just adding 1/2 a cup per gallon. It called for 1.6 pounds per 5 gallons. Weird. Seems like alot of hassle on top of what maintenance we must do to keep a proper reef. But oh well, I guess!

Quality Salt Mix

Comments I does perform as advertised. Consistent values. Ca 450,dKH 10-12 and Mg 1320+. Always a stable Ph. My corals definetly took off after I introduced this salt mix. Perfect and formulated for RO water. Phosphate and nitrate free. I had a Mg problem which effects your Ca and Alk levels. This salt mix took care of this for me. Never had to adjust my Parameters again.

Liked about it High levels of Ca and Mg. Corals realy took off and began to encrust rapidly.

Didn't like Does not mix well. Sometimes the Ca can precepitate out of solution while mixing. Mixing it slower than other salt mixs helps a little bit with this problem.

Red Sea Coral Pro Salt mix

General This is my favorite salt mix, it is a little pricy but I love the increased calc levels. According to the tables at an S.G. od 1.025 which is where I maintain my S.G. the calc level is 480 PPM. I did notice that I did not have to dose as much two part to keep my calc levels up. I apologize as I would have kept a record of this but it has been over a year since I changed salt.

Liked about it High calc levels right out of the bucket.
I definitely noticed increased growth compared to the regular I/O I was using before.

Didn't like Mixes rather slow, I mix for 48 hours compared to 24 with I/O.
A little more expensive than Reef Crystals.

Best of the best

Comments I'll never go back to any other salt product then red sea. They got me hooked

Liked about it It's a hight quality salt for a good price. Has everything to need to start off your aquarium with get elements. This salt makes my coral line grew like crazy and the corals just seem to do alot better with this product. Cals is very high in this blend but my sps love it.

Didn't like takes awhile to mix like 2 days if your just starting a new tank.

Worth every pennY!

Comments Best reef salt I have used. Great CA, KH, MAG, etc.

Liked about it Coraline popped up fast when switched and LPS color returned. I have used Reef Crystals, and Sea Chem Reef salt in the past. Never have I seen results like this from salt. Very well buffered salt.

Didn't like I wish I would have found this years ago. My corals probably do too.

Worth the money

Comments Performs above and beyond, great value for the money

Liked about it I dont have to dose kalk or any kind of calcium supp
formulated for ro/di water
mixes up at 450 ppm ca, excellent source of trace elements

Didn't like how it always seems to never completely dissolve, leaves behind a little sediment that dissolves over a long period of time
also have to monitor your ca levels to make sure they dont get too high
