I use to use this on my 55 gallon for a couple months and for some reason it caused my nitrates to go up from zero to forty. I know it was not me who made them go up because I did not add anything new or change anything in my tank at the time. I did the same thing I always did before. I would recommend using Instant ocean instead. It dissolves fast with or without circulation and has caused no ill effects in my tank.

There was one thing I did like about this product, I liked how fast it dissolved in my preparation tank when it had circulation. I did like how accurate the directions were.

I do not like how it cause my nitrates to go up in a short amount of time. I do not like how long it took to dissolve when you had no circulation in the preparation tank.

Great salt

This salt is well balanced and my corals love it. For the price you cant get a better salt at this time. I went through a few salts, but now I use this because its absolutly perfect for a reef tank!

Calcium content is where it should be, not sky high, not low.....just right.

I dont make 50 gallons at a time.....so if I dont store the salt in a arid place, it tends to clump together. I with the bags were for a 25 gallon mix.

Well it can tend to be a little grainy for awhile until dissolves. Working better in HOT water than fish tank temp water.

Good salt when used in a two-part system
| General |
Mix with a 50/50 ratio of IO salt to acheive a better trace element/buffer mix. Personally, I can tell a difference in my coral inhabitants between using a ratio mix and using this product alone. |
