General

Currently using one for RO/DI water storage.
Very easy to install and use.

*Not recommended, there is a risk of failure in doing this*
For over 2 years I used this as an ATO directly from my RO/DI unit. This can be risky in the event that a snail or other invert gets caught in the valve. If this happens your beautiful saltwater tank would become freshwater and you will have a mess to clean up. I have to say that I have been using this for 2 years with no incident. I did recently add a level sensor and a 12vdc solenoid before the float to shut off water in the event my sump overfills.

Liked about it	Can be3 mounted into just about anything plastic or acrylic. It can be adjusted after installation. Float is very buoyant creating a strong seal with the valve.
Didn't like	the unit it a little big

Kent Marine Float Valve

General

I have a number of these for several systems I have set up for my tank. I use one with in conjunction with a solenoid tied into a 70 gallon RO/DI top off reservoir, I use one in my sump, another on a brute can that I use for water changes and have a couple spares laying around as well. So easy to employ these.

Liked about it	This is an easy way to set up an auto top off system be it in the sump, a RO/DI holding tank of what ever you need it for. So simple and cheap I'm surprised I see so many complex systems out there.
Didn't like	The plastic washer is easy to strip out and you must be careful tightening it.
