Excellent water-making solution and easy to install
Installation and Operation
Installation was a snap. This unit comes with the standard water in, waste water-out and purified water-out 1/4" fittings. Air Water & Ice (AWI) goes one step further by providing a simple hang-tag to each fitting to ensure the purchaser knows which is which. Seasoned vetrans installing this unit will find this step obvious but for the first-time installer, this is a very helpful step I have not seen before. The instructions are somewhat simplistic with clear photos labeling all equipment and handy tips. In-all, AWI has taken many steps to make sure the installation process is smooth and understandable. The included hardware is well made and all fittings come pre-fitted with Teflon tape and ready for installation. From experience with competitors, this is not the norm. Again, well-thought out product presentation. This unit has a PSI rating which is well documented in the instructions and it is recommended that one might also purchase the inexpensive PSI guage AWI sells to ensure that the water feed is not forced through the unit too quickly thus possibly creating output water which has not fully reacted with the unit's reaction chambers (DI Beads). The unit is easily incorporated in a system with a (not included) float valve for Automatic Top Off scenarios.

Performance vs. Expectations
After initial installation and required ~10 gallon run-off, water TDS levels were noted at 0ppm on a calibrated Hanna hand-held meter. In my area, it was not uncommon to measure ~5ppm with a competitor's unit and fresh filter media installed. This speaks highly for the quality of the AWI unit. After a month of use, I am happy to report the TDS levels remain at 0ppm after ~400 gallons of water has been made cycling my system with a total water volume of ~500 gallons.

Value for money
While this unit is more pricey than others in it's class, the expense (in my experience) can be justified by simply observing the quality parts used and the production over time. With thousands of dollars spent on my inhabitants, the extra $50 can be accepted readily.

Customer Support
To-date, there has been no reason to contact customer support. Having been in the hobby for more than 5 years now, I have seen other reviews and questions regarding AWI products and support before and happy to note I have not seen a poor review. Do not take my advice however and use your favorite search engine to look up this company and you will find my opinions do not stray from others noted.
