Easy operation, simple adjustments of the gate value. If you can turn water on at the sink you can adjust this skimmer. Performance vs. Expectations Never owned an octopus skimmer, purchased based on reviews, Best choice I have made, No break in period for me, Set it up and within hours pulling skimmate. Value for money Had other skimmers in same price range, and this one out performs them all. Great Value Customer Support Have not had to call Liked about it Simple setup Simple adjustment Simple Cleanup Pulls skimmate like no other skimmer I have owned. Didn't like I bit noisey but to to over whelming... easy to correct. Report this review   Price: $0 to $0 Compare Prices at 0 stores Octo Extreme 200 Installation and Operation The instructions are kind of vague however a detailed diagram is supplied. With this diagram and clearly marked parts setup is a breezy. This skimmer is to be operated in 8 to 10 inches of water and adjustments can be made with a simple turn of the standpipe. Performance vs. Expectations The Octopus Extreme 200 is powered by a Sicce PSK2500 pump which is the heart of this system and isn't all that loud once its broken in. The standard pinwheel has preformed exceptionally well for my needs, however the Sicce PSK 2500 pump can be upgraded with a mesh mod (that comes with the skimmer) or an ATB purple pinwheel to produce better scfh values. I'm planning on getting a ATB purple pinwheel in the future to handle my new tanks every increasing bio-load. Value for money Hands down this is the best skimmer for its cost. It's a quality product constructed from high-end materials designed to be extremely user friendly. Customer Support I've had no experiences with customers support as of yet. Liked about it 1. It's designed extremely well and made of quality parts. 2. Sicce pumps are very energy efficient only using 30 watts and can be upgraded to produce better scfh values. 3. Some people have difficulty with the stand-pipe adjustment, but I've had no troubles. Performance vs. Expectations The Sicce PSK2500 pump id the heart of this device, and has performed perfectly for me with the standard pinwheel. I tried the mesh wheel modification with no success. Value for money Very few skimmers can come close to the value of the Octopus Extreme skimmer line. Customer Support No experience. Liked about it Cost (~$300) Performance Power draw (~30 watts) Didn't like I did have restart issues with the pump in the first year of ownership, but I rotated the pump 90 degrees on the advice of another member here and haven't had any troubles since. Water deep in sump is 20cm. Performance vs. Expectations Sicce pump works like a horse. Skimmer just enjoy it. Value for money The best.
