Worth Every cent!
| Installation and Operation |
The manual left a little to be desired.....however, it is only a skimmer and most people will be able to figure it out. Super easy to adjust, nice small foot print, but it makes my old skimmer look tiny. It was a nautilus TE.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
I gave it a vinegar bath for a few hours after I got it, installed it, and I have dark green skimmate collecting after 3 days! I expected to a better skimmer, but I am blown away.

| Customer Support |
I called Reef Specialty to be sure I would have it by Saturday. They informed me that they had sold out and were going to have it drop shipped from coralvue directly to me...I think this is excellent.
I called coralvue on Thursday becuase I still didn't have a tracking number. The very friendly girl who answered said they were swamped from the thansgiving holiday, but assured me she would find my order and ship it out that day for sat delivery

low wattage, high quality pump, quiet, easy adjustment from wet to dry skim, great construction, pump is under the skimmer - which helps dampen it even more.

My only beef is that initially the pump was really really loud. After some run time though, I hear my cooling fans (80mm pc fans) over my skimmer. The skimmer is inside an insulated stand.

Octopus Extreme 160

Best bang for your buck in the skimmer department. They are priced right and do a great job of skimming the tank. If you are pressed for space like me the pump being located under the body also is a great selling point. |
| Liked about it |
For the price this is a GREAT skimmer. It started pulling gunk out right off the bat and hasn't stopped yet. Also I love the pump being under the skimmer body. I have a small area under the tank for my sump and saving that little bit of space really helps. Very well build and the Sicce pump work great even without a mesh mod or the optional purple pin wheel.

The adjustment pipe can be touchy. If you turn the pump off sometimes it's best to open it up farther and then close it back off once the pump is running again.
