I've had a few check valves through the years, including this one. It works well enough, but I can't say it's a good practice to install these instead of designing your system to preclude backflow or siphoning. If this unit fails, which is common on check valves (even slow leaks), then you're really in trouble. My biggest recommendation with these types of valves is to simply design them out of your system. Don't use them as a primary means of overflow protection. However, as a redundant piece of hardware, it's not a bad choice.

These are easy to use and install. With the clear plastic and standard threading, it's easy to get them in place in operation and know when they're being put to the test. They will help guard against backflow.

The only negative is, again, they're not wholly reliable. I wouldnt use these in zero-tolerant systems that don't have an alternate method of stopping leaks.

Don't Rely On!
| General |
Check valves will always eventually fail. It is just a matter of time. You should never trust a check valve. Just drill a hole in your return right below the water line and you should never over flow. |
