considerably better than just a union joint

Valves and unions can almost never be overdone when plumbing a new or existing system. This unit makes plumbing (and even tank) maintenance significantly easier. I've used these union ball valves throughout my career in the hobby, and I currently employ two of them on my 120 gallon system.

Installation is pretty straightforward, these are slip unions that need to be glued in place. A simple swab of PVC primer and glue and slip it into place, it will dry in a couple hours and be ready for use. Being able to disconnect the union is often priceless, and having a valve on one end means you'll be able to kill the flow of water through the system while fixing issues downstream with ease. These are great products for use in any plumbing job.

There isnt anything negative to say about this device specifically, but make sure you want to glue this piece in place before doing so. While you'll be able to get the union apart, removing the glued side cannot be done without cutting the pipes apart. If you stick this on one end of a bulkhead, you may not be able to remove your bulkhead. For applications at a bulkhead, I prefer to use threaded unions.

A must have for any serious saltwater aqaurium

There are many ways to plumb an aquarium, however you must use qualtiy double union bal valves if you plan to service your pumps and other equipment.

easy of use and installation i perfer slip to slip. they are easy to tighten and do not leak. the ball valve works smoothly with out locking up from salt creep after a period of time. some what adjustable not as good as a ball valve but ajustable.

because I am a/r It was difficult to keep the vavle handle tightened in the exact spot i wanted it while tighening.

Get what you pay for....

When I plumbed my system, I bought an inexpensive ball valve from True Value. It never functioned correctly. I have always had trouble opening and closing the valve. It seems very sticky. When I set up my q/t I plumbed on of these ball valves and the difference is night and day. The operation is head and shoulders above the generic valve. Plus it doubles as a union.

A must have for any tank plumbing

These are great to have installed for pumps. They make servicing the pump so much easier. They are not cheap so shop around for deals before purchasing. |

Double Union Ball Valve
| General |
I used convectional plumbing ball valves before and could barely turn them, these turn so easily and keep very well. The unions are just bonus. |

These turn SO easily compared to others in the market, allows easy maintenance and access to either side of the union.

These are a must have for any external pump set up. One on each side. If you are going to use external pumps then you will regret not using these! |
